Learn how to plan, pack, and whip up great drinks in the great outdoors.
Cabin trips, hikes, patio parties, camping adventures—however you enjoy the great outdoors, it should be fun and easy. And so should the drinks! Simplicity, though, doesn’t mean you’re limited to a bottle and a mixer. With Camp Cocktails, you’ll have lots of options for simple and tasty drinks that are ready to go wherever you go.
Following a primer on camp cocktail basics, including essential mixology techniques and advice for packing spirits and choosing camp-friendly barware, explore cocktail recipes for every outdoor occasion, from stargazing to boating.
Cool off after a hot day spent hiking through the woods with a Flask Boulevardier or the Northwoods Sidecar.Break in the campsite with a Grilled Orange Cobbler or the ultimate beer-based cocktail.Greet the morning sun and luxuriate in the expanse of a day with no commitments with a BMB (Blueberry Maple Bourbon) or Spiked Arnold Palmer.Cozy up around the fire with the Salted Hazelnut Hot Chocolate, the Penicillin Toddy, a spiked hot apple cider, or your choice of bracing libation from a toasted marshmallow shot glass.
Every recipe comes with easy-to-follow instructions, and many feature expert bartender tips and hacks. And to round it all out, there’s a whole chapter dedicated to foraging ingredients through the seasons to integrate nature into your favorite cocktails.
Pair these drinks with wilderness, whether that’s somewhere along the Appalachian Trail, near a lake deep in the Boundary Waters, in a cottage along the coast of Maine, or just the wildness of your own heart.
The Great Outdoor Cooking series brings the flavors of the kitchen into the wild, with recipes designed for campfires, cabins, trails, and backyards alike. With a beautiful photo for every recipe, an attractive giftable package, and an affordable price, each book blends easy techniques with adventurous spirit, proving that outdoor meals can be just as fun—and delicious—as anything cooked indoors. Other books in the series include Cabin Cocktails, New Camp Cookbook on the Trail, The New Camp Cookbook Fireside Warmers, The New Camp Cookbook, The National Parks Cookbook, and The Backyard Fire Cookbook.
