"A truly brave, enriching memoir that will take you on a global adventure." -Liam Neeson
What do you do when grief, divorce, and redundancy arrive at the same time? You sell everything, pack two bags, and sail straight into the life you were afraid to want.
Niamh McAnally is a dive instructor, a solo traveler, and a woman who finally chose herself. From hauling an unconscious diver to the surface off Belize to chasing the northern lights in a geomagnetic storm, her real-life adventures span coral reefs, road trips across America, and volunteer stints across five continents.
But this is more than a travelogue. It is an honest, often hilarious reckoning with the loss of a father, childhood trauma, and the slow excavation of a life buried under a bad marriage. Funny, salty, and quietly devastating, it speaks directly to women navigating grief recovery, reinvention, or the particular loneliness of living outside conventional timelines.
Then comes a sailboat, a captain, and a crossing that changes everything. If you have ever stood at the edge of a decision and talked yourself out of it, this book is for you.
