Beschreibung
A powerful final collection from Richard Wagamese exploring Indigenous teachings, healing, ceremony, and human connection.

Completed shortly before his death in 2017, One Drum gathers together stories, reflections, and spiritual teachings from one of North America’s most beloved Indigenous writers. Rooted in the Ojibway Grandfather Teachings, this posthumous work offers accessible ceremonies and practices centered on humility, courage, respect, and belonging—inviting readers to find healing within themselves and their communities.

Drawing from his own experiences with addiction, homelessness, incarceration, and loss of identity, Wagamese writes with honesty, compassion, and hard-won wisdom about the transformative power of reconnecting with Indigenous traditions. Rather than speaking as a spiritual authority, he writes as a fellow traveler on the path toward healing and understanding.

At the heart of One Drum is the belief that all people are connected. Through stories, teachings, and simple ceremonies that can be practiced alone or in community, Wagamese encourages readers of all backgrounds to rediscover connection—to themselves, to others, and to the living world around them.

Profound, uplifting, and deeply humane, One Drum is both a spiritual guide and a lasting tribute to Richard Wagamese’s literary and cultural legacy.
