Beschreibung
This publication accompanies four exhibitions from British artist Rebecca Louise Law at Museumsinsel Schloss Gottorf, Reithalle Gottorfer Globushaus, Freilichtmuseum Molfsee, and Jüdisches Museum Rendsburgat from 27 February to 01 November 2026. Offers the first comprehensive introduction to her work. Text in English and German.

Rebecca Louise Law (b. 1980) is considered one of the foremost international installation artists. She creates large-scale, immersive, sensorially engaging works from dried natural materials that combine traditional techniques with contemporary installation strategies. These works create atmospheric spaces in which the transience, beauty, and complexity of nature are immediately palpable. A key feature of Law’s artistic process is her close collaboration with local communities. Plants are cultivated, harvested, dried, and processed through manual labor. This catalog accompanies the monumental exhibition project of the same name, for which Law created new, overwhelming spaces at four locations in northern Germany. The installations raise awareness of ecological interconnections without being didactic and open up horizons that make the close bond between humans and nature tangible. The publication features impressive photographs of the four exhibition sites and offers the first comprehensive introduction to the artist’s work.
