Beschreibung
The Power of Arabic Logic is a unique book that seeks to illuminate the many cognitive and conceptual divergences that exist between Arabic Islamic and Western Judeo-Christian cultures.

The book forms a comparative survey of the structure of knowledge within the two cultures. By analyzing cognitive conceptual tools embedded in language, author Dr. Samy Abdunnur explores the ways in which these embedded tools have affected the evolution of the sciences and arts belonging to both cultures.

The book also lends profound insight into forecasting the future of this challenging cross-cultural interaction that seems to define the times in which we live.

A Connecticut born university professor of Palestinian descent, since the early 1970s Dr. Samy Abdunnur has lived and worked in some of the most troubled and volatile regions in the Middle East. Over the last 40 years, he seems to have had firsthand experience of every major conflict that has taken place in the region; including the Egyptian/Israeli conflict of 1972, the Lebanese Civil War in 1974, the siege of Beirut in 1982, the Gulf War in 1990 and the first Intifada in 1992.

Along the way he has spent time living side by side with the Palestinian people and experienced the agonies of their prolonged struggles from close range. Their courage, their defiance and their will to ultimately persevere through the larger than life adversity they face on a daily basis formed the inspiration for The Power of Arabic Logic.

Currently the author resides in Lebanon, near the Syrian border.
