Supernatural fiction continues to be of interest to modern readers, though many of the most frequently anthologized ghost stories were written during the Victorian era. The book also provides birth and death dates and pseudonyms for more than 7,700 authors of supernatural fiction. Citations may be accessed by editor, author, book title, or story title. MIKE ASHLEY is a researcher and bibliographer of popular literature, particularly fantasy, horror, and science fiction. He has published more than 500 articles, and his more than 30 books include Algernon Blackwood: A Bio-Bibliography (Greenwood Press, 1987).
WILLIAM G. CONTENTO is a freelance writer. His books include several indexes to science fiction, crime, and mystery anthologies.
