Hundreds of years have passed since the Terrans learned they are not alone.

Tharo, once human, now immortal and with intense and mysterious powers, acts as Sam's guide through their telepathic bond. He is a man impressed by nothing except normal beings doing abnormal things.

The duo travel to Zanza, a barren world, once green and thriving, now drained of its resources under its blistering star. The planet is a microcosm of the upcoming resource war that threatens to ignite in all corners of the Zan Galaxy.

Sam and Tharo must enlist the help of freedom fighters to find an Arti. They discover the sentient robot has been captured by local authorities and forced to compete in wildly popular deathmatches in a grand arena.

The inhabitants are wary of the duo, as humans have long been seen as the architects of their current misery. Though initially suspicious, the ragtag multi-species crew band together for a heist of galactic proportions.
