'Riveting . . . spellbinding.' Mail on Sunday

A love story with the power to change history . . .

Aged nineteen, Yolande, the beautiful daughter of the King of Aragon is arranged in marriage to Duke Louis II of Anjou, in an attempt to bring peace to a generation of bitter conflict. Against her expectations, their union flourishes into a great love story that will change the course of history.

Whilst Louis risks his life fighting for distant kingdoms, Yolande is left alone with their five children to govern their vast inheritance and navigate a royal court fraught with danger and treachery. Using her wealth, intelligence and network of spies, she becomes the saviour of both her own territories and France itself.

In this sweeping and epic novel, Her Royal Highness Princess Michael of Kent unveils the seldom told true story of England's invasion of France in the 15th century and its captivating heroine, Yolande, The Queen of Four Kingdoms.

'Meticulously researched and powerfully evoked.' Philippa Gregory
