"Affectionately known as the joyful vegan, Colleen Patrick-Goudreau has helped countless readers make the transition to plant-based eating through her best-selling cookbooks and guides. But surprisingly, Colleen's original goal was never to become vegan; she was not looking for a group to join or a label to signal her virtue. Instead, she wanted to live compassionately, without harming the animals she loved-and being vegan was simply the most effective means to achieve that end. Today, she continues to focus on plant-based eating, while also practicing her values by going zero-waste and cruelty-free. In A Year of Compassion, she guides us through 52 weeks of simple, easy, and affordable choices we can all make to live a little more lightly on the earth. From selecting sustainable pet products and humane critter-control to donating with impact and entertaining without the trash, the small things add up. Colleen's practical advice-and warm encouragement-show that you do not have to be perfect to make a difference. By tweaking a few details of your weekly routine, you can live more compassionately-this year and beyond"--
